DAY 21

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Today’s Focus:

The Apostle Paul certainly knew about tribulation, but also trusted the comfort of Almighty God. God is the default Comforter. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, the pains that we experience in life drive us closer to comfort instead of drawing us farther away. With that said, we receive the most comfort when we make ourselves available, and are used by God in comforting others. When a woman is in labor, she is in pain. In this situation, no one really knows exactly how long the pain will last. The husband is there, holding her hand, wiping her forehead, and giving her some encouraging words. That is all he can do. He is limited. Holding her hand does not change the pain. He is just there to comfort her. God desires to birth something new in your life this year. It is something much larger than what you are even thinking. His desire is to not only comfort you, but connect you with others who can walk with you as you go through the birthing process.
